At this time of the year plenty of us fall off the health & fitness bandwagon. It’s so hard to keep on track with other commitments that soon become a priority and your motivation “to get fit” becomes a chore and seem to gradually fall by the waste side.
Recently I started Boxfit at Dealgan Boxing Club and I go at least once a week. There’s a great social aspect to it because I meet old school mates and I see so many friendly and familiar faces on a weekly basis. I enjoy it so much that I wanted to do something on LMFM radio to promote what they do and how they make the members feel. So I decided to have a chat with the senior coach, Anto Donnelly who offered great advice for staying focused and told us about his aspirations for the future of the club. I also spoke to Stephanie McCann about getting back into fitness after surviving cancer which I found really inspiring. Other members told us why they keep coming back to the club.
Dealgan Boxing Club have organised a white collar boxing night called The Contender this Saturday at the Ramada Dundalk at 8pm so get your tickets by calling 086 3748688. Good luck to all those getting into the ring!
Check out the link below with the full interview and of course I felt that a bit of rocky at the start was apt considering the topic being discussed. Enjoy and I hope it makes you feel motivated to get started or keep at it!
